Aardvark is still hard to predict. Occasionally they will choose books that will be published shortly after the box drops. More often, however, they choose books that were published the month BEFORE the box drops. So, instead of receiving books slightly before publication like Book of the Month, subscribers receive books that have been out for a few weeks.
I don’t know how sustainable this model will be. Although I like Aardvark’s picks, they’re…..late. By the time that Aardvark drops their books, I can usually find the selections on Libby. They also tend to be rated a little lower than Book of the Month’s selections. In my opinion, Aardvark has GOT to start offering books that are releasing in the same month as the box.
My predictions reflect my confusion on when Aardvark will be able to include a new release in their box. Some of my selections were released in July, and some will be released in August.
